You asked: What are the best locations for Engagement Sessions in Phoenix?
This is the third part in my mini-series on the best locations for Engagement Sessions in Phoenix. If you’re just joining me, feel free to check out Part 1 and Part 2 as well!
In each part of this mini-series, I introduce you to one of my favorite locations for Engagement Sessions in Phoenix. That way, if you are exploring locations in Phoenix for Engagement Sessions or Anniversary Sessions, these blog posts will help you out a bit. Win-win, right? Let’s dive in!
For this third post in the series, I am going to introduce you to (read: gush about :) Historic Heritage Square in downtown Phoenix!
Right off the bat, there is so much history crammed into this place! It is home to the historic 1895 Rosson House Museum and a collection of carefully restored historic homes and buildings. It is truly a historical landmark in Phoenix and a crucial piece of the cultural landscape in downtown Phoenix.

But that’s not entirely why Heritage Square is one of my favorite locations for shooting engagement sessions in Phoenix. Heritage Square has a comfortable feeling to it. Perhaps it’s the tree-lined paths or the Victorian architecture or general landscaping of the area; Heritage Square offers plenty of varied photo opportunities. There are interesting doors, brick walls, strings of lights, and wooden columns that all add an interesting dimension to engagement photos.
Pro Tip
My favorite time of the day to shoot engagement sessions at Heritage Square is early in the morning. Light is just gorgeous at that time of the day and the place is generally empty.
Speaking of the place being empty, it is important to keep an eye on the calendar of events at Heritage Square. The Square hosts quite a number of ethnic and community events that attract a huge crowd making it impossible to shoot there on those days.
Heritage Square is an ideal location for engagement sessions:
For those couples who like variety in their engagement photos but at the same time have an appreciation for a bit of history and architecture.
Bonus Tip
Heritage Square is right by the Arizona Science Center which has beautiful, unique buildings with some interesting architecture of its own. I always like to make a stop here with my couples to nicely round out their engagement sessions at Heritage Square.
